Christine Bowen & Jim Manley
Opening on 18 October is a show of new works by Christine Bowen and Jim Manley. The exhibition, "LANDMARKS", provides each of them with a parameter to interpret their understanding of the landscape, the environment and all that goes on within it and then transfer these thoughts as marks to paper or canvas.
This is Christine’s fourth show with the Caldwell over a period of nearly one decade. She is now firmly established, not only within the Caldwell Gallery stable of artists but as an artist within her own rights in the wider Irish art scene.
While this is Jim’s first time exhibiting with the Caldwell Gallery, he has been around on the Irish art scene since the early 1970s. His paintings show not only his ability and complete understanding of watercolour painting but also his deep-rooted love of the country and environment that he works so hard to try and protect.
Although two quite contrasting artists, we have thrown Christine and Jim together to create a visually fascinating exhibition.
It is open to the public from Wednesday 19th October to Saturday 5th November.
